At every one hundredth
of a second during each simulated earthquake, the forces and stresses
in the structure are measured and displayed. This time history analysis
takes into account the accumulated effect of weakened members that occurred
at the early stages of an earthquake.
Data from real earthquakes
in Kobe, Japan and Northridge, California is used. Analysis of buildings
that have experienced actual earthquakes has confirmed the accuracy of
this simulation.
