Property Council New Zealand 2011 Awards

10/06/2011

Property Council New Zealand held its annual Awards dinner tonight.

Sponsors of the award for Tourism & Leisure Property, Holmes Consulting Group was recognised for five projects.

Three projects won five Excellence Awards between them:

  • Government House, Wellington (Special Purpose Award and Heritage and Adaptive Reuses Award)
  • Supreme Court, Wellington (Special Purpose Award and Heritage and Adaptive Reuses Award)
  • Albany Senior High School, Auckland (Education and Arts)

It was interesting to note that both Government House and the Supreme Court project were intricate seismic retrofit projects, which required specialist analysis techniques, and that both were recognised in the same year.

Merit Awards went to:

  • 299 Queen Street/Aotea Square Redevelopment, Auckland (Special Purpose)
  • Christchurch Airport Control Tower (Special Purpose)
  • Specialised analysis saves and strengthens historically significant buildings.
