Te Rauparaha Arena - Porirua

Holmes Consulting Group provided structural and civil engineering services for this recently opened $17.5m facility for Porirua City Council.  This is a mixed use facility with a large 3 court clear span space, a smaller warm-up gymnasium and ancillary office, ablution, concourse cafeteria, kitchen and auditorium facilities.

The facility is located beside the earlier mid-1990's Aquatic Centre (which we also designed) and provides a focal point for the Porirua Community.  This project represents extremely good value for the community and is already proving to be a popular events venue.  It was completed on time and budget in November 2008 and received a 2009 Property Council New Zealand, Tourism and Leisure Excellence Award.
