The Base - Hamilton

The Base consists of the retail park and The Mall. The retail park consists of larger, retail stores and a dining precinct in an open-air environment.

The Mall, which is still under construction, will offer a more traditional shopping centre environment, is expected to open in 2010. Planning for the project began in 1998 and the first stores opened in 2005.

The Tainui Group are responsible for the development of the land, since 1995 when the land was returned to the Waikato-Tainui.
