Youth Justice North

Holmes Consulting Group provided structural engineering services for the Youth Justice North project, a 46 bed residential building with an additional secure wing. The facility also includes an administration block, an arts and culture block and a gymnasium. 

A new 600m public road, private ring road around the perimeter and a fully fenced 13,400 m2 sports field complete this development.

The project is based on a campus design which allows counselors the option of working with the inmates in smaller groups as well as teach life skills to minimise the chance of re-offending.

When it opened in South Auckland in 2004, it finally provided youthful offenders the support of family and friends, as this is the first Youth Justice project in the Auckland area.
